Transport Minister to be quizzed on Aer Lingus Cuts to Shannon

Plans by Aer Lingus to cut its scheduled winter flights between Shannon airport and the US will be raised at today’s Oireachtas Committee on Transport.

The former State airline wants to reduce the number of flights between the Mid West airport and Chicago in order to save money.

Labour’s Transport Spokesperson Tommy Broughan says the Government still has a shareholding in Aer Lingus and should use its voting rights to persuade the airline to reverse its plans.
