Transport Minister Says Northern Distributor Road Has ‘No Prospect’ Of Future Government Funding

The Transport Minister insists the Northern Distributor Road project intended to link South East Clare to North Limerick has ‘no prospect’ of future Government funding.

It’s after there was widespread backlash from elected representatives in the area last month when the road wasn’t included in the Limerick Shannon Metropolitan Area Transport Strategy.

Approximately 19 million euro has already been spent on the project so far, which will link Clare to the University of Limerick if completed.

However, Minister Eamon Ryan believes there are other forms of transport connectivity that the State needs to prioritise.
