The proposed bill will allow for the merger of of the new Shannon Airport Authority with the soon-to-be-disbanded Shannon Development, a process which was to be completed by summer.
However, Leo Varadkar has now told the Dáil that this is unlikely, but he insists the delay will have no effect on the merger, and that staff transfers from Shannon Development to Failte Ireland, Enterprise Ireland and the IDA will proceed in June.
