Transfer Minister To Hold Shannon Talks

The Transport Minister is to be told of the need for local representation on the board of the newly independent Shannon Airport.

Councillors from Clare, Tipperary and Limerick City and County have expressed disappointment that no public representative has been named on the groups which were this week announced to oversee Shannon’s new management structures.

The Mid-Western Regional Authority members are to hold a meeting with Minister Varadkar next week, to try and ensure that this does not occur when the airport’s new board is announced.

The Authority is also calling for one of it’s members to be co-opted onto the board, instead of one Councillor from Clare or another local authority area.
