All trains are running as normal this morning after a planned strike by drivers at Irish Rail was called off.
Unions and management came to an 11th hour agreement last night, but some delays are still expected.
At four minutes to four this morning, Irish rail issued a statement on social media to say the strike had been called off after 18 hours of talks.
As a result, all services on all routes will operate their normal schedule.
Unions and management had been in talks at the Workplace Relations Commission since Thursday morning, in a long-standing row over reward for past productivity.
The outstanding issues have now been referred to the Labour Court .
Many commuters had made contingency plans as the strike was set to go ahead and delays are still expected.
Barry Kenny apologised on Irish Rail’s behalf.
In a statement this morning, Transport Minister Paschal Donohoe commended the Workplace Relations Commission for its efforts in finding a resolution and welcomed the fact the issues had been referred to the labour court.
