Train services in Ennis have been disrupted this morning by a tragic accident.
A person was struck and fatally injured by a train between 9:30am and 10am in Portlaoise.
Irish Rail has temporarily suspended all train services travelling through Portlaoise, meaning the Ennis to Dublin route is not running.

Gardaí have attended the scene and are working closely with Irish Rail to restore services as soon as possible.
An update from Irish Rail is expected this afternoon but passengers have been advised to make alternative arrangements.
