The communities of West and East Clare are said to be united in shock this morning following the death of a local man in a fatal road traffic collision.
Michael Lorigan who had just entered his 70th year, tragically lost his life on Wednesday whilst cycling on the N67 Kilkee to Moyasta road.
Originally from Kilmurry McMahon, Michael was a keen supporter of Shannon Gaels and Clare GAA before relocating to Kilkishen, during his career as a primary school teacher in Limerick.
Michael is survived by his wife Dympna and will be laid to rest this Sunday.
Cathaoirleach of Clare County Council and Bodyke Fine Gael Councillor Joe Cooney has been telling Clare FM’s Daragh Dolan that Michael was a complete and utter gentleman.
