A Clare councillor is leading calls here for an extra Bank Holiday to be added to the calendar later this year.
Taoiseach Micheal Martin had indicated the government was considering the move before Christmas, in order to boost the nationwide tourism and hospitality sector.
The Clare Tourism Taskforce is currently finalising an Action Plan for the local industry to emerge from the fallout of the pandemic.
