Concern Over Level Of Signage For Wild Atlantic Way In Clare

It’s claimed that tourists arriving into Clare have no idea that the Wild Atlantic Way exists, because of poor signage marking the route in the county.

Though there is a Wild Atlantic Way sign in Kilcolgan in Galway, the level of signage and information on the road network in Clare is said to be falling far short of what’s needed.

Shannon Airport have a large, Fáilte Ireland supported installation in the arrivals lounge with information on the route and things to see and do – but once visitors leave the airport and take to the roads, the concern is that they are unsure where to go.

Incoming Vice Chair of Ennis Chamber Darragh McAllister says that with increased visibility in terms of signs and information points, the entire county can benefit.
