In the county town, things begin on Saturday, August 17th with the launch of a brand new book called “Clare and its People” at the Ennis Friary, while a geology walk at Loop Head Lighthouse marks the start of the West Clare festivities.

A tour of the Shannon Town Community Wetlands is also being held that day, while the first of the East Clare heritage events comes on Thursday, August 22nd with a famine walk in Tulla.

While this year is a significant drop on the record 108 events that were held last year, Clare County Council says there is still something for everyone to enjoy throughout the week.

Heritage Week 2019 runs from August 17th to 25th and a full list of events in Clare can be found on our website Clare.FM.
