Tourism officials in Loop Head look set to press state agencies for more funding, so that they can capitalize on a major global tourism award.

The Loop Head Heritage Trail, which includes 14 local attractions, has been named as the Best Cultural Heritage Attraction in the the World Responsible Tourism Awards.
It beat competition from Connemara and South Africa for the honour, which recognises Loop Head as a global leader in promoting and sustaining heritage.
Cillian Murphy of Loop Head Tourism says they now want to make the most of it, but says this will require funding.
