Killaloe representative, Fianna Fail Councillor Tony O’ Brien has been elected as the new Mayor of Clare.
The retired Bus Eireann inspector has been sitting on the local authority since 2014.
He’s succeeded outgoing Mayor, Independent Councillor PJ Ryan for the next 12 months.

Fellow Fianna Fail member and Sixmilebridge-based Councillor Alan O’ Callaghan has also been elected as the new Chair of the Killaloe Municipal District this afternoon.
