In just under an hour, Shannon Airport will make it’s final bid for a new tourism boost for Clare and the Midwest Region.
In an unprecedented marketing move, German Airline Eurowings has launched an online competition, to decide it’s latest route out of Cologne.
Shannon Airport has made it into the final three, alongside Mostar in Bosnia and Herzegovina, and Trapani in Italy.
People have been voting since last week, but for one hour today – between 2 o’clock and 3 this afternoon – members of the public will have the chance to vote online again to secure the route for the Midwest.
Head of Aviation Development at Shannon Airport, Declan Power has been telling me that the route would have a significant impact on the tourism sector here:
You can vote for Shannon Airport here.
