A low level yellow thunderstorm alert has been issued for Clare this afternoon and evening.
Met Éireann is forecasting localised showers with heavy downpours, thunderstorms, gusty winds and a chance of hail, which may lead to localised flooding and difficult travelling conditions.

The alert, which also covers Limerick, Tipperary, Donegal, Connacht, Laois, Longford, Offaly and Westmeath comes into force at 3 o’clock this afternoon and remains in place until 9 o’clock tonight.
