Three Men Remain In Hospital Following River Shannon Boating Accident

Three men remain in hospital following a boating accident which claimed the life of a man on the River Shannon yesterday morning.

Emergency services were alerted to the scene at Castleconnell boat house, north of Limerick city at around half past four – there they found the 28 year old man submerged in water after a stolen boat he was travelling in capsized.

The man died yesterday afternoon from his injuries and the other men, aged in their 20s and 30s, are being treated at University Hospital Limerick fro hypothermia.

Gardai and the Marine Casualty Investigations Board are investigating.
