A woman and two small children have died in a fire in Dublin.
The blaze broke out at an apartment in Clondalkin in the early hours of this morning.
Gardai say 5 people were in the apartment at the time – two women and three children.
A 27 year old woman and two little girls aged 2 and 3 were taken to Tallaght Hospital and pronounced dead a short time later.
Another woman in her thirties was taken to St James’ Hospital and a 4 year old boy was taken to Our Lady’s Hospital in Crumlin – both of them are described as being in a critical condition.
Seven other residents of nearby apartments were evacuated from their homes because of the fire, which has now been put out.
The scene has been sealed off and a technical examination is to take place to determine the cause of the blaze.
Gardai are appealing to witnesses to come forward.
