Three people are dead and seven others have been wounded after a gunman opened fire in a Swiss factory – before turning the gun on himself.

The incident happened at a wood panel plant in Menzau near Lucerne, shortly before 9 o’clock this morning.
A witness quoted by the local newspaper said that an individual had entered the factory canteen and opened fire.
Switzerland has a long-standing tradition of gun ownership, and ranks third in the world for the number of guns per inhabitant, after the United States and Yemen.
