The Department of Education has released the results of subject inspections at three Clare schools as part of the latest round of reports.

The Department found that the teaching of geography at St. Flannan’s Ennis was ‘very good’ and praised the ‘significantly strong uptake’ of the subject at higher level.

It was also recommended that the Transition Year plan for the subject be further developed.

Inspectors also praised the teaching of constructions studies and materials technology at Ennistymon Vocational School by highlighting the good supply of resources as well as ‘a very high quality of teaching and learning at all times’.

They also encouraged the school to seek further opportunities to incorporate the use of technology in the classroom.

Meanwhile, a report into ‘guidance’ at Saint John Bosco Community College, Kildysart found students there are well supported and that positive links exist between the school and external agencies.
