Three Arrested Following East Clare Road Crash Which Resulted In Woman And Three Children Being Hospitalised

Gardaí are appealing for witnesses to a road crash in East Clare earlier this week which resulted in a woman and two children requiring treatment in hospital.

Three people were arrested in connection with the incident which happened at around 11.30am on Tuesday, on the R463 Killaloe to Limerick road at Newline close to Shantraud Woods.

It’s understood that a car attempted to overtake a truck and collided almost head-on with an oncoming vehicle carrying French tourists.

A woman and two children were assessed at the scene and later transported to University Hospital Limerick, where they were treated for injuries that are reported to be non life-threatening.

A man and two male juveniles were subsequently arrested, but have since been released without charge, and a file is being prepared for the Director of Public Prosecution.
