Thousands Must Wait One Year Before Receiving State Pension

Thousands of people are being forced to retire and wait a full year before they’re entitled to a state pension.

New figures show that five thousand people have been left in limbo when it comes to social welfare entitlements for those aged 65.

The Irish Independent reports that some older people are obliged to sign on for the dole and formally declare they are available for work until they qualify for the old age pension.
