Campaigners agains the household charge are gathering in towns and cities across the country today to voice their opposition to the tax.
It comes as reports this morning say Town and City Council staff are preparing to knock on doors of those who haven’t paid to collect the money.

Around 80 percent of people have yet to pay the household charge – with just one week to go before it’s due.
A major rally is being held in the National Stadium in Dublin this afternoon by people boycotting the charge – as well as smaller protests nationwide.
