Tenders are being sought for the provision of improved facilities for pedestrians and cyclists in Ennis.

Under Route 2 of the Ennis Active Travel Town scheme, cycle lanes will be constructed from north of Clareabbey Roundabout as far as the St Flannan’s College Roundabout.
Stop boxes for cyclists at signals, as well as circulating cycle lanes at roundabouts along the old Galway/Limerick Road and the R352 from Kellys Korner to the Maid of Erin will also be provided.
The new route will connect to Phase 1 of the West Clare Railway Greenway at the Mill Road.
Fine Gael Councillor Mary Howard welcomes any measures that will encourage people to get on their bikes.
