A ten year campaign for improved safety measures on one of Ennis' main arteries has come to an end following the announcement of a quarter of a million euro towards the provision of a roundabout.

The announcement comes as part of a thirteen million euro allocation for Clare's local and regional roads under the Government's national investment programme.
Hundreds of residents in the Oakleigh Wood/Cappahard area have raised concerns over safety on a section of the Tulla Road, which is travelled on by over six million people each year.
Local Fine Gael Councillor Johnny Flynn says the announcement provides huge relief for those living near by.
