A teenage boy has been rescued from the flooded River Shannon in Castleconnell, Co Limerick.

The 18-year old had been attending a party shortly before entering the river at around 10 to 1 this morning.
The youth was removed from the river by friends as emergency services arrived and carried out first aid.
The boy was removed by ambulance to University Hospital Limerick, where he is stable.
