A teenage boy has died in hospital after falling from his horse into the Glashaboy river in Co Cork yesterday.

The 16-year-old was pronounced dead at Cork University Hospital.
The boy was riding a horse near John O'Callaghan Park in Glanmire when he was thrown from the animal into the water.
The alarm was raised by two of the boy’s friends who were with him at the time and a major search operation was mounted.
The boy was found in the river yesterday evening and he was taken directly to Cork University Hospital, however, he lost his fight for life.
