Teen due in court over Limerick Abduction

A 16 year old boy is due in court today in connection with an incident in which a 19 year old was taken from his Limerick home at gunpoint.

Patrick Cusack – whose family run Garryowen Post Office was abducted by a three man gang  from his house in Castletroy just after 11 pm on Sunday night.

A friend of the 19 year old who was also in the house was left tied up.

The gang drove Mr Cusack to a derelict house close to where his parents lived and demanded that he contact relatives about getting money from the post office – however he managed to escape.

A short time later garda arrested a 16 year old in connection with the incident and he’ due in court where he expected to be charged with false imprisonment.

A search for a number of other individuals is continuing.
