Teachers Adamant on Internal Assessment Objections

The Minister for Education is being asked to explain why she wants to alter the assesment methods in the current Junior Certificate. 

The call from Peter Quinn ASTI Standing Committee representative for Clare and Limerick comes as teachers have agreed to enter talks but insist a one day strike will go ahead on January 22nd.

Minister Jan O'Sullivan is calling on the two teaching unions – the ASTI and TUI to compromise – following her row back on internal examination at school level to just 40 per cent of the overall mark. 

However Mr Quinn a teacher at St Flannan's College Ennis says they won't budge on that.
