A Midwest TD has suggested that Clare County Council should come to Limerick’s aid in times of extreme weather.
Tipperary Fine Gael Deputy Michael Murphy made the comments during a Dáil debate on the Government’s response to Storm Éowyn.
As it stands, resource aren’t shared across local authorities and Deputy Murphy has suggested “where any county or region is disproportionately affected, it should be possible to mobilise additional services” from areas experiencing less severe effects.
He says it would encourage “good practice across the sector”.
