When asked by Clare FM if the region could expect more jobs announcements, the Taoiseach hinted at positive developments in Shannon, and said positive discussions have taken place with a number of companies.

Separately, Shannon Airport is hoping for an additional flight boost from Turkish Airlines.

Representatives of the company have been meeting with local Airport officials and also addressed members of Shannon Chamber of Commerce at their President's lunch which was attended by the Taoiseach yesterday.

The CEO of Turkish Airlines told those gathered that they're actively looking at the possibility of passenger or cargo flights to Shannon in the future.
