It’s Brian Cowen first trip to Clare since he became the leader of the county a year ago and the first time he’ll face locals on issues like Ennis General, cutbacks in roads funding, as well as the rising unemployment situation.

The Taoiseach will visit Saint Caimin’s School in Shannon, then onto the Kilmaley Day Care Centre before heading to Kerry via the ferry in Kilimer, but has no plans to take in Ennis due to time constraints.

While in Shannon Brian Cowen will also officially launch the party’s local election website, www.clarefiannafail.org.

PRO of Clare Fianna Fail Michael McTigue says they are putting pressure on to try and ensure Brian Cowen stops off at Ennis too but knows the itinerary is choc a bloc.
