Enda Kenny's told the Dáil an international policing operation's needed to tackle this gangland feud which has already claimed seven lives.

He's to receive a security briefing from the Garda Commissioner and other senior officers tonight and re-iterated that the Government will not lie-down in the face of this.

Meanwhile, Ann McCabe's husband Jerry, a detective garda, was killed during an attempted robbery by a gang in Limerick in 1996.

She believes it's tougher than ever to be a member of the force.
