Taoiseach rules out early election

Enda Kenny has put paid to the prospect of an early general election – by outlining a series of events that have to happen first.

Speculation had risen in recent weeks that the Taoiseach might call the election before the Dail returns on January the 13th.

But the Taoiseach has now committed to releasing his plans for reviving the IBRC inquiry before any election is called.

He also says there are other issues to be dealt with before the current government can finish up
