The Government has complained to the European Commission after confidential details about an increase in the Irish VAT rate was disclosed at a German parliamentary meeting.
The Bundestag Finance Committee was presented with a document saying that next month’s budget will contain a 2 percent hike in VAT.

Speaking in Belfast last night Taoiseach Enda Kenny refused to be drawn on any decisions the government has made ahead of the budget on December 6th.
