Taoiseach refuses to confirm election date

Speculation continues that the general election will be held in November – and the Taoiseach's doing nothing to stop the frenzy.

But Labour's adamant it shouldn't be until next Spring. 

With the budget just days away the media frenzy continues to be about when Enda Kenny will go to the Aras and call the election. 

The odds continue to shorten on a date in November – that could be called in under two weeks. 

The Tánaiste and Taoiseach discussed the matter again this morning – Joan Burton's standing firm

But the decision is Enda Kenny's – and he's doing nothing to play down the speculation

He's accused journalists of being obsessed – most backbenchers and others are only talking about it too.
