Taoiseach Agrees with Clare COCO on National Flag Concerns

The Department of the Taoiseach has agreed with Clare County Council that protocals relating to the National Flag need to be tightened.

The local authority had passed a motion calling for the correct guidelines to be used, particularly at all government, local authority and court buildings after concern was raised that this wasn't occurring.

Enda Kenny's Assistant Private Secretary has now written to Councillors, saying they are updating guidelines in the context of what it calls the 'Decade of Commemorations' celebrations.

The Taoiseach has also thanked the County Council for writing to him on this matter.
