Taoiseach Accused Of ‘Waffling’ On UHL Overcrowding Issues

The Taoiseach has been accused of ‘waffling’ over an explanation into overcrowding issues at the region’s main hospital.

It comes as University Hospital Limerick had more than 100 people on trolleys on both Monday and Tuesday according to nurses, with fears being expressed this winter will see those numbers climb much higher.

An expert group commissioned by Health Minister Stephen Donnelly is set to complete its report on UHL’s overcrowding issues by the end of this month.

 

Addressing questioning in the Dail from Clare Independent TD Michael McNamara, Taoiseach Micheál Martin insists the Dooradoyle facility has already been allocated ‘significant investment’.
