The Tánaiste has called on the Catholic nuns who ran the Magdalene Laundries to reconsider their decision not to contribute to the compensation fund.

The four religious orders in question have offered to help the women affected in other ways instead.
The redress scheme will see the Government pay the survivors up to 58 million euro.
