Tanaiste says new property tax structure should be known by year end

The Tanaiste says the structure of the new property tax may be known by the end of the year.

It comes as the number of people to pay the new household charge has surpassed the 900 thousand mark – though between 1.6 and 1.8 million households are liable for 100 euro tax.

Eamon Gilmore says work is being done on the promised tax – which will replace the Household Charge.
