The Tánaiste says the delivery of an elective-only hospital for the Midwest region would take six years from start to finish.
It’s after the Health Minister admitted the possibility of a State-backed project isn’t off the table when he visited University Hospital Limerick last week.

Proposals for a new 150-bed private unit to be built in Limerick with the University of Pittsburgh are at the pre-planning stage.
Tánaiste Leo Varadkar has been telling the Dáil if the State built such a facility, while not ruling it out, it would not be delivered in the short term.
