The Tánaiste has expressed dissatisfaction over plans to demolish six houses in Ennis in favour of a car park.
Micheál Martin is to ask the Housing Minister to engage with Clare County Council over proposals to knock six houses on Francis Street that were recently aquired as part of the Ennis 2040 strategy.
The Fianna Fáil leader has pointed to the Housing For All plan, saying the Government has made it clear that all state agencies must be involved in resolving the housing crisis.
Responding to a question from Clare Independent TD Michael McNamara, who’s strongly opposed to the development, the Tánaiste admitted he doesn’t know the full background to the plans, but believes the houses should be made fit for habitation.
