Talks Resume At WRC On Irish Rail Pay Claim

Unions return to the WRC today, as talks get underway on a pay claim by staff at Irish Rail.

Workers say they’re simply asking the company to pass on pay hikes in line with others in the transport sector.

The company says it can’t afford that, and in its submission to the Labour Court it outlined how its levels of debt mean it could be forced to close four lines, including the route from Ennis to Athenry.
