Clare County Council has lifted a prohibition order on swimming in Cappagh.
The order had been in place at the rocky beach in Kilrush for a number of days after ‘elevated bacterial levels’ had been found in the water there.

The local authority says it’s lifted the prohibition order following consultation with the HSE this week.
Lifeguarded hours in Cappagh are due to get underway from the 27th of June and will last until the 31st August, between the hours of 11am and 7pm on weekends.
