As the weather heats up again, Clare’s Water Safety Officer is urging people to only swim in lifeguarded areas.
It follows a cliff diving accident near Lisacannor yesterday, which resulted in a man in his forties receiving serious head wounds.
He was airlifted to University Hospital Galway where he was treated for his injuries, which are not believed to be life threatening.
Temperatures are expected to rise to 25 degrees today in some areas, and many people are heading to the county’s popular coastal and bathing spots.
