Three swimmers have been airlifted to safety after they came into difficulty off the coast near Spanish Point.

The Doolin Coast Guard assisted in the operation, which began after they were told that the swimmers were drifting out to sea.
The swimmers were all winched to safety by the Shannon-based rescue helicopter, and were later treated in hospital for mild hypothermia and exhaustion.
Separately, the Lough Derg RNLI have come to the assistance of two people on board a cruiser which ran aground on near Dromineer Bay last evening.
The lifeboat crew towed the cruiser from rocks out into safe water after an inspection found that it wasn't taking on water.
