This weekend will see the hosting of a breast cancer charity initiative in the Banner county.
The Swim in Pink initiative is used to raise funds and awareness for breast cancer research, with the charity raising over €100,000 last year.

The event is taking place this Sunday, the 27th of October at 1pm at the Cappa pier, in Kilrush, with participants requested to don any pink apparel they have on the day.
Organiser, Pauline Dunleavy, says given the prevalence if cancer in Irish society, charity initiatives such as these are incredibly important.
