Suspect still held in Francie Green murder probe

Gardai in Limerick are continuing to detain a man for questioning about the murder of Francie Green, who’s body was recovered in Cratloe nearly two weeks ago.

The 27 year old man was arrested yesterday as part of ongoing investigation into the disappearance of 48 year old Mr Green who went missing from his apartment in Limerick last November.

It’s understood the man being questioned is a prisoner at Limerick Prison and has previously been questioned about the case of Francie Greene

Francie Green’s body was recovered from the River Shannon at Portrine, Cratloe  in Co Clare on February 5th.

A native of Kilteely, he’d been missing from his apartment in Hartstone Street in Limerick city since the night of 27 November 2009, and Gardaí believe he may have been taken from his home against his will.

A post mortem examination was conducted on his body but Gardaí did not disclose the results.

One man was questioned about the disappearance of Francie Green prior to the discovery of his body and the 27 year old man arrested yesterday morning is being held on suspicion of murder under section four of the criminal justice act at Henry Street Garda Station.
