50-thousand students at Third Level institutions here are still waiting for their grants, several weeks into the new academic year.

Today, the heads of the State’s new online grant application processing body – SUSI – will come before an Oireachtas committee on education, to face questions about massive delays in their office.
No extra funding has been allocated to SUSI to deal with a backlog of some 50-thousand grant applications.
