County Clare’s Boxing Clubs are expecting a surge in new members following Katie Taylor’s Olympic win.

One of Clare’s foremost boxing figures has described the Bray woman’s Gold Medal Victory as a great boost to the country, and a real inspiration for young sports men and women across the county.
Former National Senior Boxing Champion Ollie Markham was Ireland’s pre-Olympic training coach for the Atlanta Games in 1996 and has coached with the Kilfenora and Ennis boxing clubs for many years.
