A young surfer is said to have had a lucky escape after managing to pull himself from the water at Lahinch while a search operation to find him was underway.

Doolin Coast Guard was dispatched to Lahinch shortly after 5 o’clock last evening, after they were told that a person had been spotted in the water.
With darkness falling, the team searched the rough seas but the man was able to pull himself to shore, and required treatment at the scene.
