The Irish Diaspora travelled from all corners of the globe to attend Clare’s All-Ireland Homecoming last night.
Over 35,000 Banner supporters, including a host of local famous faces, decked out in Saffron and Blue to welcome the heroes of 2024 home at the Fair Green in Ennis.
The magic moment that will live long in the memory of Clare supporters forever more, as the All-Ireland Champions of 2024 disembarked their open top bus to take the stage at Active Ennis Tim Smythe Park.
Special guests on the night included the Liam McCarthy Cup and the National Hurling League Trophy collected in April.
It’s only the fifth time in history Clare have claimed the All-Ireland title, with the last success coming eleven years ago.
Fans young, old, brave and bold came out in force for the historic celebrations and among them were neutrals with roots in Italy and the Lebanon who were getting their first taste of Gaelic games culture.
It wasn’t only Clare’s hurling stars in attendance on the night, with elite athletes from multiple disciplines in the crowd.
Among them was Munster Rugby’s and Doora-Barefield’s Tony Butler.
In 2020, the St. Josephs man claimed a historic Harty Cup medal with St.Flannans Collge and from that winning team on Sunday Clarecastle’s Cian Galvin and Cian Broderick and Corofin’s Killian O’Connor were among the Clare contingent.
Butler says the achievement of the entire Clare squad is testament to the unwavering dedication and determination of a special and talented group.
